On 12/04/06, Phillip Rodriguez was among the first to receive $50,000 fellowship from United States Artists. United States Artists is a new organization dedicated to the support of America's finest living artists.Rodriguez was also selected to document the United States Artists award events held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York.

 

Phillip Rodriguez will speak at the 2006 Latino Leaders Luncheon Series in Washington D.C. on November 15th at 10:00am as a panelist during the Latino Issue Hour: Arts & Entertainment. The panel will focus on the challenges facing the Hispanic community in the television industry and offer recommendations for improvement. The discussion will also be broadcast on HITN – TV. Mexico City Book Fair
Los Angeles Now will make its Mexico premiere on October 13th at the 6th annual Mexico City Book Fair. The event, organized by the Secretary of Culture for Mexico City, brings together close to one million people who will participate in more than six hundred activities.

Sister Cities Visiting Journalist Fellowship Screening
 Office of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and LA Inc., The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau and will host a private screening of Los Angeles Now for visiting journalists from Los Angeles sister cities. Monday, Sept. 18

City of Los Angeles 225th Birthday Screening
 El Pueblo Historical Monument will host an outdoor, free screening of Los Angeles Now
at Pico House Gallery Courtyard, Friday, October 6, 7:30 PM.

The Centre Pompidou
Los Angeles Now, makes its international premiere at the Centre Georges Pompidou's Cinema 2 on March 8, 2006 at 8pm.
The film makes its debut as part of the opening ceremonies for the Pompidou's survey of Los Angeles art, "The L.A. Art Scene, 1955-1985." Additional screenings are scheduled for March 31 and April 16 as part of the Centre Pompidou film series "Imaginer Los Angeles."

Documentary film producer Phillip Rodriguez has been named a Senior Fellow of USC Annenberg's Institute for Justice and Journalism. Rodriguez will collaborate with other IJJ fellows on films and other projects exploring criminal justice, issues of race and ethnicity, post-9/11 security and liberty, the U.S.-Mexican border and immigration.
